The Town of Yorktown is hosting the 28th annual Yorktown Community Day on June 17 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Jefferson Valley Mall.

This year's event will honor Dr. Ralph Napolitano, who is retiring after 11 years Superintendent of the Yorktown School District with a farewell ceremony.

"It has been an honor and a joy to serve the children and parents of Yorktown Central School District”, said Dr. Napolitano. “Eleven years ago when I was hired to be Superintendent here, I promised the Board and Community that I would love and take care of their children. I have never reneged on that promise. I will remember Yorktown for the rest of my life."

Throughout the Jefferson Valley Mall, there will be interactive exhibits featuring artists, authors, nonprofit groups, businesses, and entertainment. The Alliance for Safe Kids will be hosting a fashion show with the latest trends by local student designers who have partnered with retailers at the Jefferson Valley Mall.

Outside the mall, attendees can enjoy firetrucks, police cars, ambulances, driving simulators, Classic Cars of 93 Octane Crew and the 6th Annual Auto Show hosted by the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce.
